Telekinesis is an amalgamation of two Greek words – tele (meaning distant) and kinesis (meaning movement or motion). Telekinesis, therefore, is the paranormal ability of a person to use his/her mind to influence remote objects without any known physical means. Coined in 1890 by Alexander N. Aksakof - a German-Russian psychical researcher, telekinesis is also described as ‘remote influencing,’ ‘distant influencing,’ ‘mind over matter,’ among other terms.

A psychic is a person who is very sensitive to non-physical forces of nature, and psychic predictions are done through a broad spectrum of methods and systems, such as occultism, mysticism, metaphysics, parapsychology, and consciousness. Many do not consider these systems of predictions as science as the results so achieved cannot be verified, in the way science verifies things. The thing about psychic predictions is that it is not easy to pin down the failures of the readers.

Precognition can be defined as perceiving the future through extra sensory perception (ESP). It is formed from the Latin word præ – meaning ‘prior to’ – and cognitio – meaning ‘getting to know.’ Of all the various forms of ESP, precognition occurs most frequently. Precognition can occur while awake - in the form of visions, as a thought flashing in the mind, etc., but around 70 percent of precognition occurs in dreams. It is also induced through trances, channeling, and divination, among others.

Though rarely, people have experienced precognition months, or at times even years, before the event actually happens. Normally it occurs with 24 to 48 hours before the event. Researchers of the paranormal, or the psychics, believe that between 30 to 50 percent of precognition provides information that is useful to avert disasters.
